Newsworthy Cruise Ships

Offering fine dining, world-class entertainment and exotic destinations, cruises are an ever-popular vacation idea. If you’re planning on taking a cruise in the near future, consider making you vacation extra special by cruising with one of the following newsworthy cruise ships.

Oasis of the Seas

As the second-largest cruise ship in the world, Oasis of the Seas dwarfs everything else. The sheer size of this ship isn’t its only astounding feature, however. The ship is a floating island with seven different “precincts” that make travelers feel like they are in an entirely different world.

Central Park

A massive open-air park, aptly named Central Park, is located in the center of the ship. On traditional cruise ships, the desired stateroom view overlooks the ocean; on this ship, guests have the opportunity to choose rooms that overlook this beautiful natural space.

Boardwalk

If you’re cruising with your family, you’ll love the Boardwalk. This carnival-themed area boasts a full-sized carousel amid carnival games, shops and restaurants. You’ll find a few rock climbing walls and a temporary tattoo shop, too!

AquaTheater

Another popular entertainment spot onboard Oasis of the Seas is the AquaTheater. In the theater, divers, synchronized swimmers, dancers and acrobats perform both day and evening shows that incorporate video feed broadcast on large viewing screens above the water.

Pool and Sports Zone

People of all ages will enjoy this region of the ship. Featuring an adults-only solarium, a beach pool, whirlpools, an aquatic playground with a dedicated infant and toddler pool, two surf simulators, and a sports pool with water team sports, there is something for everyone here.

Disney Dream

The Disney Dream may be smaller than the Oasis of the Seas, but it has its own unique amenities that make it a great choice for cruises.

Pools

The Disney Dream features a water coaster called The AquaDuck. This water coaster is 765 feet long and winds its way along the entire length of the ship, dropping a total of four decks. This massive water slide is illuminated at night, which adds another dimension of fun to your wild ride down the slide. If you prefer something a little quieter, you can soak in the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool, complete with a bar.

Sports

There is a wide selection of sports you can participate in on board the Disney Dream. Play mini golf, take a stroll on the walking track, play basketball on a full-sized court that can be converted to a soccer field, play volleyball or compete in an informal table tennis tournament.

For Adults

Choose from 11 different nightclubs and lounges on the Disney Dream, some that are adults-only after dark. There are dance clubs, indoor bars, outdoor bars, sports bars and even an internet cafe.

For Kids

While you are enjoying your adults-only time, you don’t have to worry about where your kids are. Supervised club areas are available for teens, pre-teens and toddlers to make these cruises fun for all ages.
